    Los jóvenes y la flexibilidad laboral

    The article analyzes the job preferences of young people depending on the gender group, and their willingness to accept the increasing demand for job flexibility. For the analysis we have used microdata from Fundacion Pedro Barrié de la Maza Second Survey (EFPBM 2006). The analysis shows that 66.2% of the interviewee prefers a job as civil servant rather than an open contract with a private company. In terms of gender differences, women show an even stronger preference for the former, 69.08% compared with 62.92% for men. Young population attitude towards contractual flexibility is also very negative. The majority shows a preference for a job as civil servant, but also rules out the possibility of being self employed. Besides, the majority of Galician young people prefer jobs where they will work a fixed number of hours.El artículo analiza las preferencias laborales de los jóvenes por razón de sexo y su disponibilidad a aceptar la demanda creciente de flexibilidad laboral, a partir de microdatos procedentes de la segunda Encuesta de la Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza (EFPBM 2006). En la investigación se constata que el 66,2% de los entrevistados preferirían un puesto de funcionario a un contrato indefinido en una empresa privada. Por sexos, las mujeres muestran una preferencia, todavía más acentuada que los hombres, 69,08% respecto a 62,92% en los varones. Por una parte, responden mayoritariamente que prefieren una plaza de funcionario, por otra, se muestran contrarios a ser autónomos. Además, la mayoría de los jóvenes prefieren tener un empleo con un horario fijo. Las actitudes de los entrevistados ante las dimensiones de la flexibilidad contractual son muy negativas. No sólo prefieren mayoritariamente una plaza de funcionario respecto a trabajar en una empresa privada, también se muestran contrarios a ser autónomos frente a empleados fijos.     Graduate competencies and employability: the impact of matching firms’ needs and personal attainments

    [Abstract]:Professional competencies are a key factor in gauging how employable a graduate is. This paper demonstrates that individuals who have best developed the competencies which firms feel to be most important are more likely to be in a position to obtain a job. To this end, we have developed an indicator that measures the proximity between the relative levels of both importance and attainments. Results confirm the feeling among experts that the most relevant competencies in the labour market are predominantly of the systemic type, i.e. transferable personal competencies, to the detriment of more instrumental competencies related to capacities and graduate education.     [Abstract]: The objective of this paper is to try to evaluate the port-city relationship from its onset, taking into account the challenges of port 4.0. Indicators such as the percentage of employees participating in training programs, the percentage of female employees in Galician ports, the percentage of merchandise moved by private operators and the percentage of companies with quality certification in Galician ports are evaluated. The fourth revolution is based on the transition from current fossil fuel-based energy models to alternative energy sources, changes in the logistics and transport parameters and finally, on the elimination of intermediation. The key component of the third pillar of new Economy 4.0 is complete digitalization. The optimum port-city solution must address the need of both the urban planner and the port manager to evaluate potential measures that would alleviate the pressure of dedicated port facilities on the city and vice versa to the greatest extent possible

    The 2008 economic crisis produced significant setbacks in economic growth in developed countries, and countries like Portugal, in particular, were seriously harmed. Human capital is a factor of production which provides benefits to both individuals and society and, as such, it is crucial when analysing countries’ economic revivals. This article’s goal is to carry out a study of the likelihood of being employed in Portugal between 2006 and 2016, differentiating between full-time and part-time work, according to the maximum level of study attained.     Factor analysis of organizational justice : the case of Ecuador

    Purpose: Organizational Justice (JO) is an important predictor of different attitudes and organizational behavior. Τhe Colquitt organizational scale of justice was developed to assess the perceptions of Justice in employees (for this case university professors) and it has four dimensions: distributive, procedural, interpersonal and informational justice. For this work we extend the analysis to the Ecuadorian context using a model that was applied in Spain. Design/Methodology/Approach: The Cronbach alpha obtained for each dimension varied between .98 and .99 with a measure of sampling adequacy KMO of .9663. The corresponding factor analysis, includes items on 3 factors that account for 98% of the variance, so it is confirmed that it is an instrument that has the adequate psychometric properties for its use in the ecuadorian context. Findings: The institutions of public higher education of Ecuador, go through a significant stage of change and transformation from the political to the academic in which short-term changes are proposed regarding the normative and that is where it is necessary to study the processes of organizational change, and achieve greater assimilation through the management of elements such as the perceptions of justice that can lead to these being assimilated in a better way. Practical Implications: From the four dimensions identified by Colquitt, the one showing a higher percentage of acceptance was the interpersonal with a rate of 86.1%. Originality/Value: The objective of this study is to assess the scale of organizational Justice of Colquitt and to determine the perception of teachers in public universities in Ecuador.     Un Análisis de la Formación Terciaria entre los Trabajadores Dependientes e Independientes: El Caso de Portugal (2006-2016)

    [Resumen]: La inserción laboral de la población es un proceso complejo, que requiere la consideración de un buen número de variables y la aproximación desde múltiples niveles. Por una parte, es importante analizar este procedimiento atendiendo a las condiciones del mercado de trabajo y a las características de los individuos que configuran el capital humano existente en cada país. Portugal ha experimentado en el periodo de 2006 a 2016 un proceso de crisis económica (2008), que provoca en 2011 la intervención de la Unión Europea. A pesar de todo, en este contexto donde la situación socio-económica se ve perjudicada la recuperación se hace latente y se ha conseguido mantener la senda de crecimiento, que ha repercutido en los niveles educativos y en la inserción laboral. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es analizar los niveles de educación terciaria alcanzados por la población ocupada en el periodo 2006 a 2016, diferenciando entre trabajadores contratados por cuenta ajena (dependientes) o por cuenta propia (independientes).[Abstract]: The labor insertion of the population is a complex process, which requires the consideration of a good number of variables and the approach from multiple levels. Portugal experimentou no período de 2006 a 2016 um processo de crise económica (2008), que provocou em 2011 a intervenção da União Europeia.     Estrategias del marketing portuario: El caso español

    Traditional ports have modified their patterns of behaviour, and currently they are working on strengthening their marketing strategies aiming to address a global market, where increasing competition, demand for new infrastructures as well as easiness to access and to operate are the new norms. This article sets out the news ways and processes to deal with the tasks related to port corporate governance as regards to the promotion of their marketing. The article analyses the quantitative structures in the specific case of the Spanish Ports, from which two strategic lines are obtained: marketing focused on increasing cargo volumes, and marketing focused on increasing connectivity. Finally, the article also quantifies the results of the efforts by the 28 Port Authorities on the marketing field, and presents their positioning using an analysis of the principal components of these indicesLos puertos tradicionales han modificado sus hábitos y sus comportamientos y, actualmente, tratan de potenciar sus estrategias de marketing en un mercado global donde existe mayor competencia, y donde cada vez se exigen nuevas infraestructuras y mayores facilidades para operar. En este artículo se describen las nuevas vías a través de las cuales se realizan las tareas de gobernanza portuaria desde el punto de vista de la promoción del marketing portuario.     Los Estudios de Impacto Económico en puertos son una herramienta muy extendida que empezaron a elaborarse en la década de los años 60 en Estados Unidos. Desde entonces, estos estudios han ido depurándose, eliminando algunas de sus limitaciones y restricciones y convergiendo hacia una metodología estándar que permiten realizar comparaciones entre los efectos de distintos puertos. El artículo analiza la evolución histórica de dichos estudios, indicando las diferentes variantes y sus limitaciones metodológicas y concluye con un resumen de los resultados obtenidos tanto a nivel internacional como en el caso particular del sistema portuario español. Se concluye el papel que tanto el tamaño del puerto como su estructura de tráficos tienen en los impactos que éste genera en términos de empleo, valor añadido y productividadEconomic Impact Studies in ports are a very widespread tool that began to be developed in the decade of the 60s in the United States. Since then, these studies have been refined, eliminating some of their limitations and restrictions and converging towards a standard methodology that allows comparisons between the effects of different ports. The article analyzes the historical evolution of these studies, indicating the different variants and their methodological limitations and concludes with a summary of the results obtained both internationally and in the particular case of the Spanish port system.     Operaciones portuarias de petróleo crudo: Una revisión bibliográfica sobre simulación e investigación operativa

    [Resumen] Actualmente, el tráfico marítimo de crudo de petróleo y sus derivados sigue siendo un tráfico relevante, tanto desde un punto de vista geoestratégico como a nivel de volumen transportado. Dado el desequilibrio regional en términos de reservas, producción y consumo, se genera, por tanto, un importante tráfico marítimo, pero también una necesidad de la industria de optimizar los procesos con el objetivo de minimizar los costes y dar una respuesta eficiente en términos logísticos. Desde esta perspectiva, las técnicas de investigación operativa y la modelización de los tráficos para su optimización se presentan como una metodología muy conveniente y, a lo largo de los últimos setenta años, han empezado a publicarse estudios científicos con diferentes enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos. El objetivo de esta investigación es recopilar, analizar y clasificar los modelos de tráfico de crudo de petróleo y sus derivados y ordenar la temática de las innovaciones introducidas. Para alcanzar este objetivo se realiza un recorrido bibliográfico conceptual indicando como se han ido introduciendo las sucesivas mejoras y, al mismo tiempo, eliminando las restricciones iniciales.[Abstract] The maritime traffic of crude oil and derivatives is still very relevant, both from a geostrategic perspective and regarding the total volume of liquid bulk shipped. Due to the regional imbalance in terms of reserves, production and consumption, important maritime traffic is generated, and a necessity for the industry of optimizing these processes, with the goal to minimize costs and give an efficient answer in logistic terms. From this perspective, the operation research techniques, and the traffic modeling techniques aimed at optimization, can be presented as a very convenient methodology over the last seventy years, a stream of scientific publications has emerged with different quantitative and qualitative focus. This research aims to gather, analyze and classify the traffic models of crude oil and derivatives and to order the innovation concepts gradually introduced.
